From the beating heart of Paris to Mont Saint-Michel!

A 450 km route connecting Notre Dame to Mont Saint-Michel, a journey along natural and cultural highlights such as the Château de Versailles, Chartres Cathedral, exceptional gardens and castles, the thermal baths of Bagnoles d'Orne and beautiful natural parks . With at the end the world famous Mont Saint-Michel, a Unesco world heritage site. This route is easily accessible for pleasure trips with the whole family or as a sportive trip.

This cycling route consists of several stages. Our Gîte is located approximately halfway through the route. Between Alençon and Carrouges.

The recreation area: La Ferté-Macé

Located in the pleasant setting of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park, Lake La Ferté-Macé, with an area of ​​28 hectares, is an ideal place for water sports such as swimming, pedal boats, sailing, canoe and kayak and angling. Lovers of outdoor activities are also offered playgrounds, volleyball, boules, mini golf, a climbing wall and a walking path around the lake.

Nature reserve Roche d'Oëtre

Arriving at the cliff of Roche d'Oëtre, 118 meters from the top, you will be conquered by the discovery of an unusual and unexpected landscape in the heart of Norman Switzerland! This place is the oldest mountain in Europe and offers a breathtaking panorama of the gorges of the Rouvre.

Equestrian sports:

The Orne is known for equestrian sports. There are many riding schools and possibilities for day trips through the beautiful surroundings and forests.

A riding school affiliated with FFE near Alençon is GP sport Loisir, at the foot of the Écouves forest.

There are private lessons or lessons with small groups, from 6 years old.
